In this unit, Abstract Art, the task was that I had to make an abstract painting and make it attractive due to the unit question, "What makes art attractive?".
I researched what is abstract art, and some artists. In my elements and principles of art, I showed my understanding through visual hand drawings and written text in simplicity and detail using research. I showed my application through experimenting and brainstorming my many thumbnails. I could have improved my plan which could of helped me even more because I wasn't too clear on what to do causing me to stumble onto problems. I was inspired by Mark Rothko because of his paintings were all about simplicity. I drew the painting and was told to try something else. I developed on that idea and decided to blend colours. I focused on colour in my painting. If I were to do the painting again I would add more design like splattered paint and I also learned that when blending, I must mix the colours very quickly before the paint dries in order to blend. In conclusion I think I painted well enough but my planning wasn't great and that's probably why I had to change my painting. I also learned that ideas come naturally and improve by trying over and over again and always making judgements on them until your happy with what you got. My opinion towards abstract art is still not good. I believe abstract art can be very good but 99% of it is junk.
I have to admit I didn't do too well in this unit overall but I thought this unit was a great success because I made mistakes and I reflected back on those mistakes to learn and look at them in a positive way to use in the future. Mistakes are the best way to learn. I now know exactly what to do if I were to do this or similar things againReflecting on my Silhouette Painting 1. Are you pleased with your Silhouette painting? why / why not? Yes because it looks fabulous 2. What did you find easy when you created your silhouette painting? painting the sun set. 3. What part did you find tricky when you were creating your Silhouette painting? -think about blending of colours, tracing round your animal and painting within your animal it. tracing my animal. 4. Who / What helped you when you were painting? Miss Nichol. 5. What would you do differently next time? Think about: blending of colours, animal choice, presentation. blending the colours because it will look beautiful and real. 6. What frustrated you when you created your Silhouette painting? tracing my animal because I could not see the pencil lines.
My day job also sent me on my first trip to Europe... not once but twice! Where I used my spare moments to visit art galleries and just wander. So I had more art history education this past year than my entire life! And I am able to add (and will be continually adding) scenes from France and Italy to my portfolio.
I only had time to do one weekend art show this year, but I finally surpassed my first art show in 2006 as far as sales. And built a really awesome free standing wall that can be assembled with one person! I also finally recieved the coveted designation of Active Status with the Federation of Canadian Artists; unfortunately I have yet to get into any juried shows... but some goals/challenges need to be left for 2013.
But back to my thank you's... From the bottom of my heart, the most sincere thank you to you for supporting my artwork; whether you purchased paintings (which I always say is the biggest complement an artist can get), criticized my paintings (making me grow as an artist), read my blog or simply liked my Facebook page/posts. All of this has energized and helped keep me going in my art career. And I am anxious to see where my painting adventures go in 2013.
Noise of my hearth
In the moments of silence I spend safely tucked away from any other humans and every other living creature I open my heart and quiet my mind to hear this one connection that seems to be woven like the cloth of a sail that then powers the ship across a never ending sea. It sweeps me along endless cosmos and takes me into your arms where I am comforted that I can Be with you forever in love.
Would you toss such vulnerableness away like a used up piece of cloth risking that it might have been you with me with we that became the safety washed in a love that ends not?
I have seen how humans abuse themselves and then project to abuse all others in such anger that rose up not from the open heart but from the depths of their very own hell. Weeping comes to my eyes. For suffering is of human making yet pain is our call to compassion that we might sit together in our arms to ride the pain out. Suffering can be dispelled yet only humans repeatedly cling to suffering unwilling to break free.
The merger seems to be gaining support so is likely to happen. That is probably good for both museums. LACMA's meager collection of contemporary art would be well supplemented by MOCA. In fact LACMA doesn't seem to know what to do with all the space it has in the two new modern art buildings, The Broad Contemporary and Resnick Pavillion. The last time I was at LACMA I was so disappointed with the empty spaces, unused galleries and uninspired exhibitions that dropped an email telling LACMA that what was showing in those two buildings was not worthy of a world class museum.
I think that LACMA suffered a real blow when Broad took his collection out of the Broad Contemporary and decided to build his own museum across the street from MOCA. When the (NEW) Broad opens in 2014 the art that used to be at LACMA, in the Broad Contemporary, will be at the (new) Broad instead. With the merger, MOCA will have achieved two much needed benefits. First it will be financially secure and second it will have formed an alliance with a heavy weight that can keep it from being devoured by Broad when he opens across the street.
Reflections are some of the most interesting subjects in landscapes.
I couldn't resist painting this dory and it made the perfect subject for a small painting.
Most of the instruction on reflection is basic. The shadow side of the boat reflection is going to be a little lighter in the shadow then it's shade. The lighter side reflection is going to be a little deeper in value than it is in the light. These are generalizations that do not always apply, however they help the artist is what to look for when painting reflections.
I find when the water is calm this is generally true, when there are ripples something different might be happening. Anyway if your going to paint the coast your going to have to read up on some of these ideas. I read most of the Gruppe books I find he was a master at painting water.
Gruppe on Color and his other books are out of print. Most library's have a system where they exchange lending through the system. I have read most of my art books this way.
I sold this to a woman that is a native to Provincetown. Jill has been after me for years to sell her a small
painting when she saw this she stop and said "that's the one"!

The building industry and public works focuses almost 9% of employees in the general scheme. It alone accounts for about 18% of accidents with work stoppage and almost 30% of deaths. A finding that deserves a specific analysis and assumes that prevention efforts are pursued.
The construction sector is one of our most important economic activity. Construction employees are, more than others, exposed to high risks of occupational accidents or occupational diseases.
The prevention of occupational hazards has to divide by three the number of fatal accidents in the past 30 years. However, vigilance must remain up and integrate occupational risk factors.
Sources of accidents, situations and emergency improvisation of sites are usually the result of shortcomings in the development of the construction project and / or a lack of foresight in preparing the work.

Entitled "Crack Photoshop CS6 4 steps", the video plays on words. If ultimately it suggests "splurge" the Creative Cloud subscription offering, perfectly legal, it starts out by explaining how "cracker" or hacking software famous, albeit with a tinge of irony and bad faith, but still fairly realistic.
We thus find quite faithful reproductions of The Pirate Bay and scripts for Photoshop prevent access to the Internet. But contrary to what the video suggests, it is easy to find without password, without infecting their computer and without the wrong language. Worse, download it easier and often faster BitTorrent, where it is widely shared on the official Adobe website which requires registration and is sometimes congested.
In fact, Photoshop is so easy to hack one might even suggest that he is deliberately so that individuals accustomed form and free at home, before imposing the acquisition of licenses business. But Adobe is now targeting professionals in private, where the purchase of a license for 1000 euros is sometimes difficult, but that it now offers subscriptions relatively affordable.

Google Earth is undoubtedly one of the greatest technological innovations that have marked history. Google SketchUp is a Mac accessory this program but can be very useful. This is actually a 3D modeling program designed for use in Google Earth.
One thing we know for sure is that users want SketchUp SketchUp is rapid. Whatever your level of experience or your style of modeling, there are still methods that allow SketchUp run faster. The sections below detail the "modeling techniques" that help you efficiently model, the "computer settings" that maximize your computer's capabilities and parameters "SketchUp" that increase performance.
Stick to simple styles. Whenever possible, turn off shadows, textures and special effects for modeling. You can, at any time later to activate these features make a presentation. Components are your friends. If you use the same entity multiple times (for example, a window or a tree), make it a component and use copies of the component. Multiple instances of a component are less bulky than multiple copies of an entity or a group. Use layers to control visibility. Model contains more visible geometry, SketchUp works more slowly. To hide the geometry on which you are not working, place on separate layers and hide it. Do it with images, landscape elements such as trees and shrubs, furniture, cars, etc...
JPEG images are very suitable. If you import images into your model, use JPEG instead of TIFF images. The latter tend to be larger and display requires more processing resources.
